Formal art training or education: I went to an
Ivy league school to study psychology and sociology. My
parents talked me out of majoring in fine arts. I ended
up taking 21 credits of fine arts after graduation at the
local community college. I have been crawling my way back
to my first love for the last four years.
Where do you get your inspiration from? I constantly
check www.designspongeonline.com, www.swissmiss.typepad.com,
the Etsy treasuries, and Julie Blackmon photography. Martha
Stewart is pretty compelling as well as ReadyMade Magazine
and Domino. I love, love, love browsing other designers
blogs. I am finding that creativity is bubbling over on
every continent around the world-- thanks to the web. It
inspires me to get going on my own work.
Describe any other hobbies or interesting things about yourself.
I love to rake leaves in the fall. I enjoy listening
to old records and saving furniture from being put in the
trash. I like wearing flip-flops year round. I love to travel
and hope to get to India someday.

In high school one of my pieces was entered into
the Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters. I had just started
taking art classes the year before. It was quite the surprise.
I was also voted most inspirational soccer player in college
after three major knee surgeries. I was pretty proud of
persevering.
