Eugenia Mancini Horan

Eugenia Mancini Horan

Name:
Eugenia Mancini Horan

Location:
Reno for the past 4 years, New York up until then.

Tell us a little about what you make:
I make whatever has my interest at the moment, or I find something that I want to try to master.  I would say I'm an oil painter, but I tend to show my black and white photography much more.  I've also gotten into graphic designing lately, and have a line of shirts called "Universal Muse' that resulted.  I guess mostly I make people confused because I'm always on to the next form of art I'd like to try!

What is the price range of your work:
$40.00-$5000.00 (Shirts to Paintings)

Where can a shopper buy your merchandise?

I have a few things listed on Etsy.com, but most of my work for sale is displayed on www.notaprettygirl.net

Formal art training or education:
I have a degree in Painting and Photography from SUNY Potsdam, New York

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Life experiences.  Imagination.  I'm sort of all over the place!

Describe any other hobbies or interesting things about yourself.
I met my husband in NY.  He is a traveling musician, so in order to date I had to go on tour with him.  I spent 3 months and 9000 miles on the roads across the U.S. with him before we decided to make Reno our base of operations.  I guess another thing people find interesting is that all my photography is photos of myself in costume, shot by myself.

List any awards etc. that you are proud of.
I was awarded the Sierra Arts Grant.  It was the only grant I'd ever applied for, so I was shocked!  I also got to shoot my myself for the cover of Clever Magazine in July, which was a great honor.
